What a week this has been. I can only hope my body clock restores itself to normal function.
Sleep is nice. When you are having 12 hours of it a day.; P Hey I can do it, it's the one week break. Not really been doing much. Managed to finish the report on the weak kitty early to send to my lecturer the horse vet to vet. (Pun intended). Exam timetable's out, realised I have to pass the animal handling practical to move on to 3rd year. Alright, going to practice on pigs this Wednesday even though it's my free day. I'll master you cuties yet! By the time I'm done with you you won't be able to escape from my snare! Personally can't wait to see the Hampshire piglets which are all black with a white "saddle".
How have I used up this one week break you ask?
Watching too many DVDs.
O yes have I said I love Futurama? Watched all 4 production seasons. And then again. And then with the wacky commentaries. And then in French. Which is weird because in the Futurama universe the French language has died out...I lament the fact that Fox isn't sponsoring any more episodes! Sigh. It was good while it lasted. I must say Bender makes me laugh the most. His non-verbal comments are the funniest! Like when he's running, or disappointed, or doing a little hip-hop. Hee hee. And then of course there is the science-fiction extravaganza! Yes, I have finally come out. I'm a nerd. O wait, you knew that already didn't you? And then there's the incredible 3D that would be hard to find even in the movies! Wait let me rave some more! It's not a total geek fest, it can have real depth and emotion like the episodes with Fry's brother and dog. I nearly cried. And then there's the romantic shenanigans the characters always seem to get into. No area is too taboo, even the 160 year old professor gets into the action sometimes. It's absolutely hilarious! Furthermore I'm such a sucker for romance. Why oh why did the show get canned? Ok the Xmas episodes were a little dark, but clever nonetheless. It's so much cleverer than the Simpsons. O wait, maybe that's why it got canned, it's not really mainstream enough to be understood by the general public. Cry. I love animation, I love science-fiction. Nuff said.
I seem to like anime with either the word "ai" (love in Japanese, also in Chinese, but I won't go into the semantics) or "fu" in the title. As in "Ai Yori Aoshi", "Aishiteruze Baby" and "Full Metal Panic!" with it's spinoff "Fumoffu?". I'm such a sap for clever mind you NOT mindless love stories with full of warm fuzzy feelings and 'bring it on' action with romantic high school comedy like the Full Metal Panic! series. Got cheesed off when I watched Aishiteruze Baby to episode 13 and realised it's supposed to be up to episode 26. Why do I not have unlimited broadband?
Went to the Perth Royal Show as well. My 1st time! Saw the animals, played a couple of games, ate the free samples...I wanna go again next year! Realised I was getting old, 2 rounds on the bumper cars with little Samantha and I was bushed. And I wasn't even driving! The rain sorta spoiled the mood. Despite being cold and wet most of the time, I enjoyed myself. (Dan even got sick because of that, poor dear). He even won a giant Spongebob Squarepants TM! for me at the camel "races" game where you roll balls into the holes and the camel moves. The animals there made me happy. So many breeds! So many cute fluffies! Almost all the domestic animals were there. In one place at one time. Great oppurtunity for a city gal like me to learn breed recognition. The next time I go I'll bring more money so I can laugh myself silly at the rides and buy some edible showbags with the morish nuts and kettle chips. Mmmm, food. And stay behind to watch the fireworks too.
Which reminds me, not that I need much reminding, I have a box each of Freddos and Snakes to sell for half-way-day. They sit on my desk and I keep eating them...Half-Way-Day is when the vets celebrate getting through half of the course. My batch will have it at the 2 and a half year mark. Not that I will be getting pissed drunk, maybe I'll drink up my share of soft drinks and mixers. Haha. After all we did drop off phone books in a whole suburb to raise money for that too. We are even selling dog breed posters. I wonder what they are going to come up with next.
Played Xbox at Dan's house too. Hey I'm getting better at Project Gotham. And Crazy Taxi. I wanna get through Futurama the game too but it's proving hard with my less than synchronised hand-eye coordination. Still trying to figure out Procast the fishing game.
Ooh. Should go back to revision. Exams coming. = )
