Seperations

Why is it that just when I have realised I have become close friends with someone, I have to go?

Sometimes I know when I will see that person again, sometimes not.

Friends with whom I can have a conection with don't come along everyday.

The last time this happened I was slightly depressed for a couple of months, even though I knew I would see them in a year. Anything that remotely reminded me of them I would think of them. Which happened quite often actually.

It was actually quite silly really as I could still contact them online, but being in person with them is just so different.

I hope its just the humidity making me depressed now, not the sadness. Not for too long anyway.

Think of the happy times Shaz! Think of the happy times! Be HAPPY!

German Guys = Gay?

On the way to bringing my flatmates on an informal tour of the vet school...

Jianny: "Sharon do you remember the first time you met Max you asked me if he was gay?"

Me: " Is it? I don't remember leh..."

Maris: "Yah! I thought all my German guy friends were gay until they said they had girlfriends!"

And oh yes, Max is very happily straight with girlfriend in Germany. = )

(To add to the all German guys are gay notion, while Jianny was pottering around in Max's room tonight she found a HAIR STRAIGHTENER. Shock!)

In conclusion, German guys probably appear very metrosexual, to Asian girls at least, because they grew up in a society so polite that frowns upon the public release of bodily gases. I'm serious! I haven't burped properly this whole semester. No wonder Europeans *ahem* always look like they have a stiff upper lip. More often than not they will probably be trying to stifle a burp or fart until out of the range of company!

German + Singlish = Ginglish?

I've given up trying to explain to my German flatmate Max that "lah" is punctuation, NOT a statement.

Not only have I given up trying to "teach" him Singlish, (my Malaysian flatmates Airin and Jianny have tried too), I've started to speak a strange German bastardised version of Singlish to Max lah!
