Sitting around drinking powdered soup. Never knew there was such a thing till I came to Australia. I seem to always get hungry around this time in the middle of the night. Maybe I'm using up too much brain cells...It's potato and leek flavour...I think the mooshy bits are potato or I could be wrong and its just undissolved powder...
Came back and slept from 7 after dinner to 11. It was supposed to be a 30 minute nap. Andrew wasn't around to bash on my door when my alarm (which I didn't hear) went off.
Tried to do the anatomy problem-based learning today with my partner Elizabeth Woodberry. It's taking longer than expected! SO much fascia (aka skin) to clear off a small little doggie leg!
Tried JO minestrone soup, nice tasting but I think i need to dice up the vegies more and use less stock...theres always tomorrow. I can't believe what a foodie freak I've become. Just last year I would balk at anything more troublesome than instant mee or nuked food. Now I simply LOVE freshly cooked food. Its a wonder what an inspiring cook like Jamie can do (or that Andrew decided to stop mass cooking...)
Went for driving lesson today again. Sort of deproved. In retrospect I think it's because I forgot to pray before I drove. I really need God's help in driving!

It's a stinker!
Thats aussie for its really hot. I think. Tell me about it its 41 degrees in the shade and I DO NOT have an air-con in my room. Hence I have retreated to the oasis of the village computer lab, actually waiting to print (free!) past exam papers. The only problem is there are 12 computers and only one laser printer, and this African guy is taking a long long time with his notes...looks like a first year, doing the dreadful V101 Introduction to the human body (like we need any introduction...) the full on unit where they dissect...of all things...piglets!
Now I'm really craving for a blender to make juices. The next time I go to Kmart I'll be looking for a cheap one. Lovely juices in the (autumn!) heat...
Recently discovered the greyhounds can be walked anytime we like! Too bad I'm really busy this semester...
Now the printer's printing really weird stuff...eveytime I press print...like it has a mind of its own...sigh...hopefully dear dan comes with the cartridges tonight...then I can finally print my own stuff at my own printer...now just chilling basically.
Last night was great! Brother Yun of The Heavenly Man" fame (go read the book if you haven't!) spoke. In chinese of course. Halfway through the chinese got too deep for me but it was indeed a moving one, so many people responded! In fact, PCLC was so packed 500 cars had to be turned away. The overflow was filled and in total we had about 1600 in church. Brought Bernice to the meeting. I guess its going really good. She said she'll even come for lifegroup this Thursday. Yay! Jenny wasn't so excited after it, or maybe she was just tired. Will keep praying for her, will talk to her when she's ready and the spirit leads me. John George, whom I met today and didn't know he was studying here too said so. Ha ha wondered why this dark familiar guy was smiling at me. Eudora wants to set up a prayer group here, John's helping. = )
I got "Air Internet" in Dan's house now. Yay! This means lan gaming in Dan's house! But only with Zheng...= ( Not enough fun...He let me try pirated World of Warcraft, nice graphics, really REALLY big world, but no storyline, yet. Everybody's just creeping or player versus player, and there are lots of bugs to squash. O well.
Got to study hard! Pray for me, I have an anatomy project tomorrow, basically professionally dissecting and displaying an elbow with arteries...histology slides to complete and a biochem test on Monday!
Ok got to restart and see if the computer likes me enough to print what I want.
Cheers!

Hi bloggee!
Waiting for a truckload of washing to dry in the dryer...so here I am! Just tried an adapted JO recipe for risotto, lots of hard work but full of oozy goodness...when can I do it again? = )
Have I said Perth weather is mad? It's the start of autumn and temperatures been from low 10s to low 20s. This weekend its going to hit 40 degrees. How fun. Hence I am taking this oppurtunity to wash all my summer clothes!
Been learning how to drive. No easy task mind you. I keep speeding and overturning the wheel. Any pointers? But the thing is I find it pretty fun, like a computer game. But the reality of safety brings me back to the ground. I have to try not to speed! Thank goodness for a kiasee driving instructor. Her name's Tanya. She comes pretty well recommended. Jialin, Wengyan and Eileen have all gone through her. Pretty well reknowned too. Multi-failures go through her and pass!
Been SOOO tired these few weeks. By wednesdays I feel like the week has ended. Not. It doesn't help that the biochem prof has extremely disorganised notes. Anatomy is seeming to be one of the best units this semester in comparison!
Talking about anatomy, took incriminating photos of Valerie palpating Carlton the greyhound from behind...Now if only I knew how to upload the photo in HTML...
What's up with surprises nowadays? The singapore vet gang surprised me in my flat with a lemon meringue cake hee hee. Thanks guys! Initially they wanted me in the common room on the pretext of something urgent going on but I had my Problem Based Learning excersise to complete so I declined. (Procrastinate my middle name shall be...) Then out of the blue Lydia, Wengyan and Jialin turn up at my flat with serious faces. I was thinking "This has to be serious man!" ( Been hanging around Zheng too much, hence the 'mans') Then Valerie walks through the patio and opens my front door to reveal Eric holding the cake! What an elaborate hoax. A happy one no doubt!
The night before my flatties surprised me with home made cheese cake. Not. They placed 4 quarters of cheesecake shop slices together. Yummy! And they gave me a lava lamp!!!!!Woopee!!!I always wanted one, But I think nah...too frivolous to spend money on. Sounds like my little ponies with me too... its silver with purple water and red wax!! Funky!
Then in the day, Dan acted like he didn't remember at all. I'm ok with it, was just wondering. After all you are only born once, no big deal with me. I nearly forgot about this year's one myself! But I will definitely celebrate other people's ones, I need to get mobile! Hurry up driving brain!!! Dan remembered. Gave me a most memorable day which started with dim sum (they call them dim sims here. Weird) buffet at $10 a head with Uncle Moses and his life group. They were a blast! They are sort of the kind of happy uncles and aunties I miss from Singapore. It's like what God says, if I forsake my family, friends and home for the gospel He will provide me new family, friends and a home! Then went to Cottesloe for dinner at the dunnowhat teahouse. The old buildingwith quite nice food! Thank God for friends and loved one like that!
Tis the season to be crabbing (with a giant steamboat ladle! My first time!) and prawning (with a giant sock!) and eating til we can eat no more...

contrary to popular belief, I'm still alive...
this is what, week 3 at school and I am bushed! have 23 contact hours a week. But that may be nothing in comparison to Jassia's 30 hours...
But my craziest day is Wed, school from 8.30 to 4.30 with narly a 1 hour break at 9.30...hopefully we can change that around...
i have a tonne of reading I want to do! Need to get down to it.
Dan made steak last night, yummy! Used the 'Jamie Oliver style' red wine and balsamic vinegar...gorgeous...
O yes making lots of new friends, lets start with my housemates...presenting the returning students Jan and Andrew!!! (Jan gave me cute earrings from Thailand!)(Andrews not cooking anymore, o well he does need to concentrate on his studies...) = )
And I have MORE flatmates!
Maryann from Singapore, Mgs girl, she knows Jialin and Sandra!
Jenny from Malaysia...such a nice girl!
Ashleigh the exchange student from Canada, plays hard and studies hard!
Then theres Mun from Malaysia too...I open my front door and there her room is...
Also the freshies...Bernice, Marissa, Jia Wen (who knows Jassia!), Josephine, Shangzhe and Alex (the two guys whom I have not met in person yet...)
OOh we went crabbing on Friday, 5 of us, me, Dan, Zheng Dan's housemate, Val and Samantha. Quite happy. In fact too happy. Caught a crate of crabs, 200g of prawns in 2 hours! Had a feast back at Kel's house, chili, pepper...courtesy of Dan fantastic! Or as in the words of Mr Oliver...absolutely pukka! I think it was a little too much even with Jiamin and Kel helping to eat, we had a pot and 2 plastic containers leftover!
So cool, it was my first time scooping them, went to Mandurah, trudged in knee high water (cold at first! then it warmed up in the water grass...) sweeping flashlights here and there and seeing that familiar shadow in the shallows. I found a few prawns too!
Andrew went the next morning in a party of 15, taking 3 or 4 hours and getting only a crate...tee hee...
Now I miss my holidays...sob...
Gonna cook din din now, J.O. style. Mmm mmm.
